April Come She Will

MoCCA ruled. Had alot of fun at table I10. Our table mates and new friends were great and everyone we talked to was very friendly and at times even excited enough to buy something!

Here's a poster I had there I will be looking into getting screenprinted in the coming weeks.

ALSO, and most importantly, PULPO! the Webcomic is up an running!!!

Special thanks to my little bro for being a web designing ace! Visit weekly for updates, at least once a week, maybe twice.

PULPO! the Webcomic

Alright, so finally, I'm going to finish the story that's been nagging me for years. I'm going to do a webcomic that will be posted sunday nights so you can start your monday morning with a fresh page of PULPO!

This will still be a place for me to type stuff and upload things. I'll post the link to the webcomic here soon!

Spring

Just doing some spring cleaning and came upon some old sketches and studies from last fall. hopefully you'll see the final product of this mish-mosh at the 2011 MOCCA Festival! it will hopefully be unrecognizable.

Also, weather channel predicts some warmer weather ahead! maybe the groundhog was right?! Either way, I'm seriously looking to finally beat this cold this week.

Byronpaulgray.com

Alright! So I finally got my website up, a couple little bugs here and there but I'm happy with it. Check it out. I did the art for it and then I gave it to my brother to do the rest. Clayton, as you can see is quite proficient in website construction and I'm very grateful.

Here's a peek at PULPO! these days...

In other news, I'm happy to annouce the PEEPS' latest album "Our Crazy has been released! Download it FREE at www.thepeeps.bandcamp.com

We just got back from a glorious weekend with our good friends from Aficionado(http://aficionado.bandcamp.com/), and I think we all are looking forward to doing that again. We played a very successful wharehouse show with Marine Electric (http://www.myspace.com/marineelectric) who has the greatest sounding show space I've ever heard ever, let alone in a warehouse apartment. Then we saw Streetlight and Aficionado on Fri. And then rushed up to UConn to play their Spring Weekend Southapalooza Festival. It was amazing to see that many 18-25 year old kids in one place. Google "x Lot"

More art to come!

The Original Was Better

Here's a character sketch of the one of the characters in PULPO! which is a story I've been working on for about a year and a half now. Of course, in actual hours my time on PULPO! would add up to maybe a week or two. I've taken long breaks from the project and a lot of procrastinating endeavors.
My plan now, is to finish it. Working on it everyday so that it will eventually stop haunting me in my dreams.

Speaking of hauntings, please stop using the phrases "the original is better," "the book is better," "I hate them because their popular," or "Michael Graves Misfits suck because they're not Danzig Misfits." I'm sure the original is great, but that does not nullify the possibility that the remake, or the return to, or even the reimagining isn't also great. Can't both just exist as different entities?! Can't success be appreciated for what it is?
That's my pruane2forever rant for today. "g'DAY!"

En Colombia!

Hola Parces, I'm writing in Colombia waiting for the gang to be ready to go out. Slowly learning spanish (estoy apprendiendo espanol despacio) and quickly making friends. Everyone here is amazingly friendly and welcoming. Can't say enough good things about this country.

In other news, PULPO! has been on hiatus since I've taken my recent job. My job should be done by September so I'll be qucikly returning to PULPO! I've made alot of promises to friends as well as myself to finish this project and I'm excited about getting back to drawing tentacles and forced perspective city streets.

In the meantime, here's two pages from PULPO! I rushed to ink for submissions for SVA's portfolio catalogue. I definitely want to redo these again but here's proof PULPO! is moving forward. Pages 9 and 10 where Pulpo breaks free from its underground cell.

I'm also looking forward to doing a couple short comic pieces as I wait for my schedule to clear up enough for PULPO! A very walt kelly inspired version of little Red Riding hood as well as a quick less comical three page story i wrote one day-I can be serious sometimes

the PEEPS have been up to alot lately and we are looking forward to finally getting our latest EP, Our Crazy, pressed and printed. We expected to be on vacation here in Colombia but we've been pretty busy with shows and interviews here. If only we spoke more spanish! We have a video out on youtube right now for "The Sun" and you can also listen to the sun on our myspace.com/thepeepsny. Keep an eye out for Our Crazy!
